Christos Anesti!
Christos Anesti! A Blessed Bright Week to all! This week is considered by the Church to be one continuous day – a continuation of Pascha in celebration of our Lord’s Resurrection and victory over death. Fasting is prohibited this week, the Royal Gate and the doors of the Altar are open, symbolizing the open door of the empty tomb and our access to the Throne of God through Christ’s death and resurrection. We greet one another with, “Christ is Risen-Truly He is Risen, and we realize that a new Eternal Day has dawned for us and for the world, because Christ has “trampled down death by death” and has risen from the dead. This is the central proclamation of our Faith. Because Christ lives, we too can live. Because Christ lives, all things are being made new. Let us live in the Joy of Pascha! Let us know the joy of those first disciples who witnessed the Risen Lord, as we encounter the same Risen Lord in our own lives in worship and sacrament!
“Lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the world.” (Matthew 28:20)
Blessings,
Fr. David
